Before that, I did my grad work in China through an American university, and went through an intensive Mandarin program. During my five years in China, I taught at and served as an interpreter for various language training operations. I worked as a teacher and tutor throughout college and graduate school.

I then served as director of several schools in the US and China.

Along the way, I learned to code. I wrote scripts to automate our school workflows so I could free teachers and administrators to spend more time with students.

Then I worked as a software engineer and freelance developer before launching technology education projects, which ultimately lead to founding freeCodeCamp.org in 2014.

Our charity has now helped 10,000s of people get their first job software developer job. You can browse our LinkedIn alumni network here: https://www.linkedin.com/school/free-code-camp/

Have a fun, productive day.
